What is Yellowknife Blog Camp, you ask?
It's an afternoon personal blogging Un-Conference.
What's an Un-Conference? It's much less formal than a conference, and more structured than a meet-up. People with a common interest (in this case, blogging) get together and share what they know with the other attendees.
We already have some tutorials lined up:
David Maguire will demonstrate how to interest readers to spend more time on your blog
Kyle Thomas will tell us about making a living out of social media
Nancy Zimmerman will talk about her personal stalker and open the Big Privacy Debate
Liz Hargreaves will demo Adobe's "Kuler", which helps you select colour palettes for your blog.
and YOU... well, YOU should come prepared to contribute too.
Do you have to be a blogger to attend? No, BUT the whole spirit of this is peer-to-peer tutorials so attendees should plan on having the floor for about 15 minutes each. Don't be intimidated - it could be on anything remotely related to blogging: 5 common grammar errors to avoid; how to shoot a decent photo; an online misadventure never to be repeated; basic HTML; legal implications.... see? The list is endless.
ps: these blog camps happen all over the world. Like this one in Mexico, for people who blog about food!
